About Gaia (Sunder Kaur) Richards

My three biggest gifts are as a teacher, spiritual counselor, and as a healer in the etheric realm.

If you come to me for a healing session, I will go into deep into meditation where we will "open the Sacred Space" and work with awareness to bring healing to physical problems, anxiety, emotional problems and more. The Creator seems to bless us with phenomenal results in this work, and I am so happy to share it with others.

If we spend time looking at your astrology chart, we will examine what challenges and gifts you brought into this incarnation and how you can best use them on your path.

In the early '80s I had a friend who was an astrologer and she turned me on to the Seth books by Jane Roberts. I was a single mom at the time and going to court reporting school, so I put the love of astrology and metaphysics aside for a while.

Then 1988 I began to become more aware of my spirituality. Luisha Teish's book "Jambalaya" literally fell off of a bookshelf and landed at my feet. In 1989 I was in bed with depression and Starhawk's book "Truth or Dare" found its way into my lap.

Again, I set aside my spiritual interests while trying to make a living. Then in 1992 I found freedom from the alcohol obsession. I was living in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and at that same time I began reading the Tarot professionally both over the telephone and at a local coffee shop. I also began studying Kundalini Yoga with Gurumarka and working with Mark Bryan on his book, "The Prodigal Father," and assisting him with The Artist's Way workshops.

In 1994 I moved to the Island of Jamaica where I began teaching Kundalini Yoga at Jackie's on the Reef and at the Negril Yoga Center and I had the fortunate experience to begin to meet many healing people. I got turned on to Yogananda and to Flower Essences, among other modalities.

Over the years I have taught various styles of yoga. I have become a Reiki Master, lived and taught at an Ashram, opened a yoga school and enjoyed the gifts that our Creator has given me, both spiritually and materially.

Now, 2008, I am spending more time with my community groups in Minneapolis:

and am enjoying chanting the Holy Name with local Buddhist friends and the Hare Krsna community.

I am working on bringing forward the Irie International Yoga Festival in Jamaica (2009) and opening the Green Island Yoga & Community Center in Jamaica.

Here in Minnesota I am also enjoying helping the Midtown Global Market bring about the September 11 Chant for Peace Event and the November 8 and 9 Midtown Yoga & Wellness Festival.

My favorite saying is: "When we come together, let's forget all but the power and love of God."

Namaste, gaia
